Island outside Mary Stevens Park is in a terrible state


		*What's going on with the abandoned island outside Mary Stevens Park?*
	It ought to be a showcase, instead it's an absolute mess, the island outside Mary Stevens Park is in a terrible state and we are only 2 weeks away from Stourbridge in Bloom! Why has Dudley MBC deserted this island? Just yards away the flower beds are well kept outside the park gates yet this island is on one of the main routes into the town.

	Dudley MBC are spending a lot of money on other parts of the town, so why not spend a bit on tidying up this island? Besides, it is so overgrown that it is creating a visibility problem for motorists as well. Look closely and you can see the island is overgrown with ivy - what a mess! come on dudley MBC, you park staff do a grand job, why can't they do the same for the island as well? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE: 18 July 09 - That's better! Dudley MBC have responded and the island has had a substantial makeover. Personally I think the layout is still a bit overgrown and not ideal for driver safety, but it is a big improvement on how it was. Click on the image to the right to see the improvement.
